Jane Neale

We are deeply saddened to inform you of the death of our friend and colleague, Jane C. Neale, Nylink’s Information Technology Coordinator. Jane fought a valiant but brief battle with cancer with courage, grace and determination.

Jane joined Nylink in 1998 and was at work until last week, serving and supporting our members. Jane was an integral part of our staff and her quick wit and bright, cheerful and positive attitude are just some of what we will miss.

Final arrangements are being made at this time and will be shared at a later time. Thank you for your thoughts and compassion as we get through this difficult time.

I first met Jane through our work with OCLC. She was never afraid to speak up on behalf of members. She was always eloquent, professional but looked out for the best interests of her libraries. She will be missed. The network world has lost a wonderful colleague.

As a former colleague of Jane's, I was shocked and saddened to hear of her illness and death.

I will always remember and appreciate her sweet nature and her wonderful laughter.

I was shocked to hear of this lovely lady's illness and passing. Jane began her library career with me at St. Peter's Hospital. When I came in as library director, she as library assistant mentored me. Then as time went on, I mentored her and encouraged her to obtain her master's. I hated to lose her to her first professional position but I knew she had so much to offer to the library world, I couldn't be selfish. We had a great working relationship and friendship during those years. God bless you in Spirit, Jane. I dedicated to you last night at an organ concert JS Bach's "Come, Sweetest Death, Come Blessed Rest." Phyllis

I wholeheartedly agree with everyone's comments. It was a sincere pleasure to work with Jane. I always knew that we could count on her to resolve any issue that the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library had with any product supported by Nylink.

Jane had a great understanding of libraries and the importance of technology in them today. With her passion for both, she provided wonderful support to the entire Nylink community and allowed us to be better at what we do.

I am truly saddened by this tremendous loss. My thoughts and prayers are with the Nylink team and Jane's family and loved ones.

I was also shocked and saddened to learn of Jane's passing. I knew her from her volunteer work with the Adirondac Mountain Club where she served as Ways & Means chair, amongst other duties to the Albany Chapter. Her sudden death reminds us all to live life to the fullest. Words easier said then done. My deepest sympany to her friends and family who knew her best.
